Prof (Mrs) Akande, a Professor of Law, was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Company in April 2001.

Prior to the appointment, she had a distinguished career in academics and administration culminating in her appointment as the Vice- Chancellor of Lagos State University, between 1989- 1993.

Since 1994, she has been Executive Director and Founder of Women, Law and Development Centre.
