Ramadan: Maltina lights up Kano, brings communities together

Maltina has unveiled its first-ever Ramadan Light-Up in Kano, illuminating Kofa Nassarawa Emir Palace Road as a symbolic welcome to the holy month.

The installation, unveiled on Friday, February 20, transformed the historic route into a visual expression of unity, reflection, and renewal, marking the beginning of Ramadan — a sacred season of fasting, prayer, and acts of kindness observed by Muslims worldwide.

The official switch-on ceremony was attended by company executives, government representatives, religious leaders, influencers, and members of the Islamic community. Qur’anic recitations accompanied the event, setting a calm and reflective tone for the season.

The evening also featured “The Shared Table,” a communal Iftar gathering where guests broke their fast at sunset and observed Maghrib prayers. The gathering highlighted the spirit of Ramadan through shared hospitality, gratitude, and intentional nourishment.

Now in its 50th year, Maltina continues to deepen its presence in community life by promoting togetherness and cultural engagement. The Ramadan Light-Up and Shared Table form part of its anniversary activities aimed at strengthening community bonds.

Speaking at the event, Portfolio Manager Elohor Olumide-Awe said Ramadan represents a season of renewal, sharing, and reflection, noting that the initiative reflects the brand’s belief that true nourishment lies not only in what people drink but also in the connections they build and the communities they strengthen.

The Ramadan Light-Up highlights the spiritual significance of the season while celebrating the shared joy of breaking fast together, reinforcing the brand’s legacy of unity and community.

Ramadan is a sacred season, a time of consecration, reflection, and acts of kindness. It nourishes the soul through fasting and prayer. At Iftar, families and communities gather at sunset to break their fast, reconnect, and renew bonds through shared meals. And Maltina brings that nourishment that restores strength to the body in that quiet moment of gratitude.
