Consumers Applaud the new More Lager Beer

Consumers in Benue State and its environs have applauded the newly re-launched More Lager Beer, brewed by Nigerian Breweries in its Makurdi brewery. The consumers expressed their views at a relaunch event for the brand which took place at the Goddies Bar in Makurdi, the Benue State capital to formally reintroduce the brand that now boasts a new look and a new taste experience for consumers.

At the bar which was filled to capacity with hundreds of beer lovers, John Depine, a musician, said his perception about More Lager Beer changed as soon as he stepped into the event arena because the total look and feel of the brand he saw on display shows that More lager is bent on offering consumers the desired satisfaction as a beer of class. “More is our own beer and we are excited about this rebirth. More has been around since the 1980s and for it to have remained this long shows how the people cherish it. Nigerian Breweries Plc has done a great job with the beer.”

In his own comments, Ikyernum Teriumau, a business owner said More is a beer that is uniquely brewed for the Benue people and those of surrounding states in mind and has over the years offered the best experience. “When I tasted the new More, I couldn’t believe it. The new taste, look and price will definitely make it standout among other beer brands. To me, at N100 per bottle, this is a quality beer to share with friends without breaking your bank account.”

Hycient Usha, a 300level student of Mass Communications at the Benue State University who was at the event with his friends said that More Lager is the beer for everyone. “I was invited here by my friend and decided to invite other friends. When I tasted the beer I could not believe it was the same beer I tasted some months ago; it has definitely changed with even a new and refreshed label. I can now confidently position it for everyone to see whenever I am drinking.”

Uche Ndubuisi, a businessman said More is a satisfying beer that has refused to die. “I have known More lager since I came to Benue State in 1984 and it is amazing that it is still in production when its peers have fizzled away. What the new owners have done with it is very good. I can see a new label, and even a new neck label that was not there in the past. I stopped drinking it before because it looked drab with no status symbol. But now I can drink it with pride,” he added.

Other consumers expressed similar sentiments commending the company for totally overhauling the brand which can now confidently compete, or even outperform other beers in its category. They implored the company to maintain the high standards it is noted for both locally and globally.

Prior to the consumer engagement, the Corporate Affairs Adviser, NB Plc, Mr. Kufre Ekanem briefed the media on the new More lager saying the relaunch of the brand is meant to reinforce the heritage embedded in the product and its connection with consumers in Benue State and its environs. “Our enlarged Company embarked on an upgrade of the Makurdi brewery to deliver on stakeholder expectations and reflect the world class standard of Nigerian Breweries Plc. This upgrade has led to the enhancement of the brewery’s infrastructure and production process which is evident in the improved quality of More Lager beer that offers our consumers a new taste experience.”

He stressed that today’s More Lager Beer, “still proudly brewed in Benue is comparable to any international beer of repute. More lager is specially brewed in controlled manner under closely monitored processes to confine with precise parameters which gives the beer that special aroma and taste that is uniquely Benue.”
