NB plc Wins 18th Pearl Award For Sectoral Leadership

Nigerian Breweries Plc has been honoured for the consecutive 18th time for its outstanding performance in the Consumer Goods Sector of the Nigerian economy at the 2013 Pearl Awards. The company was presented with the 2013 Sectoral Leadership Award in the Consumer Goods Category (Breweries) at the event which held at the Grand Ball Room, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, November 24, 2013.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, the Corporate Affairs Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Kufre Ekanem said: “We thank the organisers of the Pearl Awards for this recognition. We are delighted at being honoured for excellence in the brewing sector. Nigerian Breweries remains committed to winning with Nigeria, brewing world class quality products which delight consumers and consistently deliver superior returns to our shareholders for their investment.”

This year’s award was presented to the company by the General Manager, Listing Sales & Retention, Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE), Taba Peterside assisted by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya.

The PEARL (Performance Earning and Returns Leadership) Awards Project was instituted in 1995 with an annual Awards Night to reward companies quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange for outstanding operational and stock performance in order to enhance the vibrancy, growth and development of the Capital Market. Criteria for the Pearl Awards are based on verifiable indices, facts and figures published in the Nigerian Stock Market Annual (NSMA).
